With the P1800, Volvo built a car focused on the sporty segment from 1961 to 1973. The P1800 was partly based on a shortened wheelbase Volvo 121/122 S chassis. Volvo introduced the P1800 ES in the autumn of 1971 with a limited number of only 8,077 units. The model, with its longer roofline, had certain characteristics of a station wagon. Due to the larger luggage space, this Volvo was versatile in its use. Looking back, we can say that the design of the P1800 ES may have been revolutionary. For example, we see clear features in modern Volvo models, such as the Volvo 480 ES and Volvo C30, that can be traced back to the P1800 ES.

The scar we have on offer here is a 1973 P1800 ES, currently registered in Germany. This Volvo comes with a documentation file, including photos of the restoration that took place in 2010. In addition to the restoration/revisions, features such as 123 ignition were installed, and this Volvo was equipped with larger anti-roll bars, a stainless steel exhaust system, and power steering. The photos of the restoration show, among other things, that this Volvo was resprayed at the time. In 2019, a complete interior renovation took place, including all seats and carpeting. Additionally, this Volvo received a new fuel pump and front brake discs, amongst other upgrades. Finally, the Volvo dealer recently carried out a service, including the renewal of the clutch. We can therefore safely conclude that this Volvo has recently been maintained and has received the proper care in recent years.

Thanks to the new paint layer, the exterior looks very neat, as do the bumpers and other chrome work. The color 'Cypress Green' simply looks stunning on this P1800 ES, and we can confidently say that the exterior looks immaculate, including the chrome work and bumpers. The Minator alloy wheels form a beautiful combination with the lines of the P1800 ES body.

The interior looks fresh with the new carpeting and leather upholstery, leaving us with a very beautiful impression. The instrument panel is in good condition, as is the dashboard and headliner. Under the hood, all looks well-maintained, and it is where we find the 123 ignition and power steering. This ensures reliable driving every time and provides excellent comfort.

Thanks to the improved chassis with heavier anti-roll bars and Bilstein shock absorbers, the handling is exceptionally good. This P1800 ES drives excellently due to the modification and restoration work. The manual transmission with overdrive is extremely precise to operate, and the overall feel is very solid.
