Description

This Volvo Amazon P121 was manufactured in Gothenburg in 1966. The first registration was also in Sweden and the vehicle was initially also driven there for almost 20 years. According to my research, the Amazon was then imported to Germany in the mid-1980s by a dealer in the Lower Rhine region and bought there by a doctor from Düsseldorf. The doctor later moved to Hesse and sold the Volvo in 1992 to a toolmaker (initially registered to his mother). About 17 years ago, this toolmaker from Offenbach restored the P121 very conscientiously for himself and he drove this vehicle until I took it over at the end of 2015.
The Amazon originally came with the 1.8L engine, later upgraded to 90hp with a B20A engine, which still purrs and powers the Volvo flawlessly today. This P121 has a brake booster as well as an overdrive. The overdrive is pleasant at higher speeds and works well with some delay. The Amazon has a German classic car registration (H-Kennzeichen) since May 2000.

As the pictures show, the car is in good condition and runs technically flawless and reliable. The main technical inspection has just been successfully completed and the MOT is valid until February 2024.
The bodywork is also in good condition. The boot lid has a minimal dent on the right rear (visible on the 5th photo). The gap dimensions are not optimal, but the doors close well. The condition of the attached chrome parts is OK - please see the photos.
The underbody and structure are in good condition. In the interior, the seats are extremely well preserved, including the chrome parts. The dashboard has a crack to the right of the dashboard. Mounted is the very nice steering wheel of the S variant (GT) of the Volvo, which was retrofitted. This has a crack in the middle of the side, which does not impair the function in any way and does not interfere. The piping on the bodywork around the doors could be replaced if the opportunity arises.
Books and documentation in the photos are part of the package and included in this offer.

The vehicle is located in Monheim am Rhein (between Cologne and Düsseldorf).
