Put into service in January 1960, our PV 544 was fully prepared for the historic rally. It was the Belgian specialist Bernard Lamy who made this preparation in 2002. The body has been completely dismantled and repainted, its B 20 engine block has been fitted with a 4-speed M40 gearbox. The cylinder head has been reworked, the camshaft replaced and two SU carburetors installed. Braking system has been improved with the addition of disc brakes at the front. An oil cooler has been installed as well as a 95-litre fuel tank. The interior has been fitted with a 4-point stainless steel roll bar as well as 2 bucket seats and harnesses. Its current owner took possession of it in 2004, it will participate in the Monte Carlo Historique in 2006, as well as in the historic Portugal Rally. The car has demonstrated its reliability and robustness during these long and demanding mechanical tests. In 2018, it was prepared to participate in the Tour of Corsica. The front axle has been completely refurbished and the engine has been completely rebuilt, it now develops 105 hp. Our PV 544 is eligible for many historical rallies by offering an original and affordable alternative to many more expensing cars.
