The Volvo Amazon was designed by the American Jan Wilsgaard and was introduced to the public on September 1, 1956, as the successor to the very popular Volvo PV444. Actual production started in 1957 and did not stop until 1970.

At Volvo, the safety of the occupants and the environment in which the passengers are located is of paramount importance. For example, the Amazon was equipped with 3-point seat belts and a covered dashboard as standard. The Amazon is therefore known as very reliable, safe and strong. Partly due to these safety measures, the Amazon became a huge sales success, for example, 279,000 copies were sold in Sweden alone, of which 35,000 copies are still registered today.

Our Amazon was first registered in Sweden in 1968 and still holds its Swedish registration. A complete restoration was recently carried out, which is reflected in the exceptional condition of the Amazon. The original factory colour (colour 79, pearl white) is like new, the fits of the sheet metal are correct and the sheet metal is naturally thin.

The interior is in neat condition, the brown leather is supple and the dashboard counters work properly. The combination between the brown leather and the white paint colour makes the Volvo an absolute top specimen. In terms of technology, the Volvo drives as good as it looks. A look under the hood soon tells us that the engine and necessary accessories have been overhauled or renewed. It should therefore come as no surprise that the Volvo is in 'ready to go' condition and shifts and drives, starts and runs great! If we had to pick a classic to drive from Sweden to Brummen, it would be the Amazon, the Amazon is a wonderful car to travel even by today's standards.
