Presented in May 1986, and initially powered by a 4-cylinder engine from the Peugeot 505 Turbo, the Venturi quickly swapped this for the nobler PRV V6 developing 200bhp. Ten years after the first sketches, and after many upsets and changes in ownership, Venturi presented the Atlantique 300. The latest creation of the famous designer Gérard Godfroy, the car kept the overall styling of the earlier models, but with smoother and more modern lines. Still equipped with the powerful 3-litre PRV V6 from the Alpine A610, it developed 281bhp and weighed 1250kg, giving it a top speed of 280kph. At the start of 2000, however, with too few customers, the factory was put into liquidation and production of the 300 Atlantique came to an end, after 57 300 Atlantique Turbos and 13 Biturbos.
The only Venturi 300 sold new in Italy by the importer Melian srl, this car was delivered to Mr Moretti, an architect in Parma, in 1997, finished in nimbus grey with a Cartier leather interior. In 2015, it returned to France and was given a complete overhaul, including a full respray, restoring its original lustre, just as when it left the factory at Couëron in 1997. All this work was carried out in the SRO workshops at the Circuit Paul Ricard, a leading specialist in the marque which was historically responsible for its involvement in competition with Stéphane Ratel. We had the pleasure of driving this car on track, there is no shortage of terms to praise its handling and comfort. With only 15,000km from new, this Venturi 300 certainly has the lowest mileage, and its appearance and mechanical condition make it the most sought- after. It will be supplied with its complete logbook and both sets of keys.
