This iconic Supercar, the Charger E38 R/T was manufactured on Monday 30th August 1971 and then sold to Parallel Motors Eugowra NSW. Believed to be 1 of 21 Big Tanks made.
Painted Mercury Silver metallic and satin Black trim, this very special vehicle homologated for racing and was fitted with the following options- A66 Hood, fender dress up package, J82 Homologated for racing E38, E38 Six pack competition engine (280BHP), A95 Interior dress-up package, reclining buckets, carpets, 3 spoke wheel, A84 Track pack (Including large fuel tank) 16:1 Steering, 14 x 7 alloys, H/Duty hubs and discs.
This vehicle was the 215th car produced in this model type VH-S-29. There were only 12 cars produced with identical build option specifications to this car.
Chrysler launched the undisguised Bathurst special at Sydney's Amaroo Park race track. Only those few motoring writers with full CAMS licences were allowed a couple of laps. Chrysler employed the hugely talented racing driver Leo Geoghegan to help set up the E38's suspension, primarily for Bathurst.
