Ultima Sports Ltd. was founded in 1992 by Ted Marlow who acquired the rights to the Mk2 and Mk3 Ultimas from Lee Noble, legendary chassis developer and manufacturer. Marlow’s own Mk3 was used to develop the next model, the Ultima Sports, which featured a new space frame chassis, Chevrolet V8 engine and Porsche five-speed transaxle in addition to a host of refinements aimed at making it a more practical road car.
Success was just around the corner and in 2006 the GTR, successor to the Sports, was crowned as the fastest production car in the world, beating the likes of the Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari Enzo and McLaren F1 to a whole host of world speed acceleration and deceleration records.
