Description

"The TR6 was introduced in 1968 and was the bestseller of the TR range when production ended in July 1976. The bodywork closely resembled that of the previous model, the Triumph TR5. The design house, Karmann Consultants, squared off the front and back ends to give the TR6 its sharpened look. Fitted with a 2.5 litre, in-line six-cylinder engine, the TR6 could reach 60mph in just over 8.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 120mph. It featured a four-speed manual transmission with an optional overdrive unit and semi-trailing arm independent rear suspension, 15 wheels and tyres, bucket seats and a full complement of instrumentation.
Presented in, near unmarked, red coachwork with black trim, this stunning example was first registered in February 1972. Today, found in great order throughout after a comprehensive ground up restoration in the late 90s and early noughties, this car has clearly been cherished ever since, including being undersealed in 2001 and in 2015, a new clutch was fitted. In the boot we find an original tool kit and handbook and contained within the comprehensive history file we can see countless older MoT test certificates, a Triumph Heritage Certificate and receipts and invoices, importantly, covering the dates of the restoration work. In this condition, prices for TR6's have been steadily on the rise, this example is one of the best we have seen and we certainly recommend viewing."
