Description

Transmission: 4 gears, Manual gearbox
Registration number: DR-65-88

The Triumph TR3 is kind of an evergreen, a car that always has attracted a loyal and enthusiastic following. A proper roadster with an alluring shape, a low curb weight of less than 1,000 kg, a characterful 4-cylinder emitting a great sound and handling that makes every trip most enjoyable. Not so strange then that this red TR3 attracts a lot of attention.

This TR3 is not for those amongst us who love a project: you will not be able to quench your urge to tinker immediately. Someone else was ahead of you and restored this English two-seater to perfection. This restoration was given in hands to a specialist firm and comes with a complete photo log. Not just the bodywork was fully attended to, the engine and gearbox were also fully rebuilt. The work carried out is reflected in the substantial amounts found in the invoices. It was crystal clear this was no cheap, rush job. The same attention was lavished on the suspension and matters such as the steering. In short everything is on point, as they say.

Following the restoration the car continued to receive a lot of TLC, leaving us with a lovely looking and great driving TR3. The engine runs perfectly smooth, with a delightful engine note so typical for Triumphs of that era. The clutch and steering too feel perfect and whilst driving the gearbox shows itself from its best side. An overdrive makes longer trips at higher speeds a pleasure.

The bodywork looks peachy with as good as no signs of use. A truly fine TR3, finished in red which only enhances its curbside appeal. Brightwork, lighting elements and wire wheels are all match the bodywork for condition.

The fully renovated interior is also a lust to behold. Wonderful black leather with white piping, a pristine dashboard full of Jeager instruments and carpets that looks showroom fresh. This TR3 is the place to be. Take into account the rather comfortable good seats and you are reassured the whole is in peak shape.

We have already mentioned the work carried out on the mechanical parts, but it does not hurt to underline the engine is in a truly fantastic state. A car to head over to old Blighty and enjoy days of touring the coastline what? Guaranteed to put a smile on you and your passenger’s face for every mile travelled. Should you be troubled by a spot of English rain, the pristine hood will protect you as do the inset windows. A pleasant feeling of keeping nice and dry. It will not detract from any of the fun as this is truly a classic car that provide carefree enjoyment along the way.

Looking for a gorgeous TR3, fully operational to tackle the next big adventure? This TR has our absolute endorsement.
