Capitalizing on the sports car craze that followed WWII, Triumph Motor Company introduced the TR2 in 1953. The model was robust and attractive, and the offered performance made it the lowest-priced production car to reach 100 mph, according to The Motor magazine. When the TR2 became the TR3 in 1955, it was accompanied by many updates including additional power. For the 1957 model year the TR3 was updated again, this time to “A” specification. Changes included a full-width grille, exterior door handles, and lockable boot lid. Approximately 58,000 TR3A models were built between 1958 and 1962. Offering improved specification and real-world performance from earlier models, the TR3A represents a sweet spot in the TR3 range.

This beautiful little TR3A was subject to a careful and exacting restoration that has now taken on a mellowed patina from careful use. Its gleaming red finish is well contrasted with black seat covers and red carpets. The engine was rebuilt in 2017, and the car has been driven approximately 900 miles since then. Reportedly, this is the vintage car that Blake Nordstrom used the most, enjoying the TR3 as a vintage urban runabout when weather permitted.
