The Triumph TR250 is in all aspects a typical example of a delightful 60’s British sports car. This one exemplifies that sentiment totally. In 1997 this 1968 Triumph TR250 arrived in the Netherlands. The first owner was a proper dedicated lover of Triumphs and completely restored the car himself. You can still appreciate the expertise that went into restoring this car. He not only brought this Triumph back to its former glory but also added some essential improvements that mean this Triumph is still a delightful companion on your travels.

First glance bring the 72-spoke wire wheels into view. Next your eyes settle on the lovely blue finish. Whilst being a delectably classic design, the blue lends the car a modern appearance. During the body-off restoration both bodywork as chassis were taken back to bare metal before reassembly. The strengthened chassis giving it a greater degree of rigidity is just one example of the improvements made. The fine bodywork sports correctly aligned panelwork that is nice and thin. The paintwork has a few blemishes but looks otherwise very good. The black canvas hood is in good shape. The hood provides a tight seal. The tonneau cover is at your disposal for days when you have the top down.

The interior trim consists of black carpets and lovely black leather upholstery with white piping. The dashboard was also refurbished during the restoration and still presents very well. The original Smith gauges and controls all look in tip-top shape and function exactly as intended. The Mota Lita steering wheel is the cherry on top of the cake as far as the interior is concerned.

The mechanical aspect was fully taken care of during the restoration. The transmission, engine and differential were rebuilt and have remained in rude health ever since. Looking at the mechanics, the opportunity was used to make some very useful upgrades. Koni shock breakers and a stainless steel exhaust were fitted. The engine now also features naturally aspirated carburettor air filters and a faster camshaft. This all aids the general good health of the fantastic running engine. The 2.5 litre straight-six is attached to a manual 4-speed gearbox with overdrive.

The strengthened chassis and good quality shock breakers give this TR250 fine roadholding. The 104 Ps make light work of driving this contemporary British Roadster along country lanes. The car has enjoyed excellent maintenance in recent times. It comes with its original owners manual.

This is not just a very pretty TR250 but also probably one the finest to drive too!
