1976 Triumph Stag MK ll Convertible

The Triumph Stag has always been designed as a convertible. This model was featured in the James Bond film “Diamonds are Forever” from 1971. The model originated as a design study by Michelotti based on the Triumph 2000. At Triumph's request, a steel shade was designed and a linen shade was adapted, so that there was enough headroom was for four people in this 2+2. Due to safety regulations and to get more torso stability, the builders added the T-bar. Initially, the Stag got a six cylinder engine, but soon the car got a V8. A total of 25,939 units were produced from 1970 to 1977. This example was produced in 1975 and is 1 of the 371 original Dutch delivered Stags. This is demonstrable because of the original purchase invoice that is present.

This Stag is very rich in documentation. These are papers such as valuation reports, inspections, repairs, manuals and registration certificates. This unrestored Triumph has a T-bar and a black cloth convertible top. The rare and original “Maple Brown” body color along with the interior is in beautiful condition. The Maple Brown color is quite rare and makes the car more desirable than the red ones. Also included is a hardtop in the same paint as the body. The Tan leather interior is a beautiful combination with the “Maple Brown” paint and the 14 inch alloy wheels, which were a very popular option. These can be recognized by the valve cap that is not placed in the rim but in the corner of the rim. It has always been well maintained and everything can be found here. It drives smoothly and comfortably on the road. The 3.0 liter V8 also makes a beautiful sound and functions nicely. Various options are available such as tinted glass, Moto-Lita sports steering wheel, Blaupunkt radio, electric windows at the front and a main power switch.

Der Triumph Stag ist seit jeher als Cabrio konzipiert. Dieses Modell war im James-Bond-Film „Diamonds are Forever“ von 1971 zu sehen. Das Modell entstand als Designstudie von Michelotti auf Basis der Triumph 2000. Auf Wunsch von Triumph wurde ein Schirm aus Stahl entworfen und ein Schirm aus Leinen adaptiert Es gab genug Kopffreiheit für vier Personen in diesem 2+2. Aus Sicherheitsgründen und um mehr Rumpfstabilität zu erhalten, fügten die Erbauer die T-Bar hinzu. Anfangs bekam der Stag einen Sechszylindermotor, aber bald bekam das Auto einen V8. Von 1970 bis 1977 wurden insgesamt 25.939 Einheiten produziert. Dieses Exemplar wurde 1975 produziert und ist einer der 371 original in die Niederlande gelieferten Stags. Nachweisbar ist dies anhand der vorhandenen Original-Kaufrechnung.

Dieser Hirsch ist sehr reich an Dokumentation. Dies sind Papiere wie Wertgutachten, Inspektionen, Reparaturen, Handbücher und Zulassungsbescheinigungen. Dieser unrestaurierte Triumph hat einen T-Bar und ein Cabrioverdeck aus schwarzem Stoff. Diese sind an der Ventilkappe zu erkennen, die nicht in der Felge, sondern in der Ecke der Felge platziert ist. Es wurde immer gut gepflegt und alles ist hier zu finden. Auf der Straße fährt es sich ruhig und angenehm. Der 3,0-Liter-V8 macht auch einen schönen Klang und funktioniert gut. Es sind verschiedene Optionen wie getöntes Glas, Moto-Lita-Sportlenkrad, Blaupunkt-Radio, elektrische Fensterheber vorne und ein Hauptschalter erhältlich.
