"The GT6 was launched in 1966 as a fastback version of the popular Spitfire model. Powered by a 2.0 litre engine from the Triumph 2000 the model enjoyed a production run until 1973. This new model, like the Spitfire, inherited what was essentially the Triumph Herald’s chassis and running gear which had already proved capable of handling six-cylinder power when developed for the Vitesse saloon. With brisk performance and stylish looks the GT6 deserved its nickname of the ‘mini E-Type’ and today it is one of the most sought after post-war Triumph sports cars with only 13,042 Mk. III examples manufactured. This example was registered new on 8th February 1973 and is in fine order throughout. Offered in red over a black interior, the general condition is good, the paintwork presents well showing few blemishes and the interior, which includes new seats and a Moto Lita steering wheel, is also in good order. Offered with a sizeable history file detailing various bills and invoices for maintenance work, many previous MoT test certificates, sundry invoices and the current V5C registration document.
