Keijer in Blaricum, Holland supplied this very nice Triumph GT6 Mk2 on the 17th April 1969. As the 856th Mk2 built, it is considered a fairly early example. This one was an original Dutch supplied car, quite unusual as more than 80% of all GT6’s were supplied to the States. Less than two years later, in 1971, the famous Dutch racing driver Henk van Zalinge modified the car and fitted a TR6 engine. Henk van Zalinge was a racing driver with Racing Team Holland (2nd in class and 8th overall in the 1964 Le Mans together with Ben Pon in a Porsche 904). He also tuned cars and built electric contrabasses as well as starting up the Autorenschool in Zandvoort together with Rob Slotemaker in the late 50’s. In 1978 the GT6 was sold to its last owner. For nearly 42 years he enjoyed many wonderful occasions with this GT6. The Triumph has always had excellent maintenance, technical improvements and updates. It has won a number of concourses, such as the Triumph club concourse meeting of 1987. It came second overall in the Dutch National triumph Day of 2004. Over a five-year period between 1998 and 2003 the GT6 was completely restored. This fully documented and photographed restoration was carried out sparing neither cost nor effort. In 2008 a revised Ford T9 5-speed gearbox was built in. A powerful gearbox that for many years had already proved its merits in the Donkervoorts. Since the restoration it has only clocked up 12,000 km. Its long-term owner happened to be an enthusiastic Triumph club member who owned a few other Triumphs. This car has a unique perfectly kept history, with the purchase bill, invoices and photos amongst other items. It has also been perfectly maintained. This particularly fine Triumph with its unique history is now ready for its next devoted owner!
