The Trabant was deregistered in 1991 and kept in a dry hall with other vintage cars. Before the car was decommissioned, the engine was preserved with oil in the cylinders. Now the car was brought back to life and some damage that was caused by the long period of inactivity was repaired, including fuel tap sealing and renewal of headlight reflectors; the car starts immediately and runs flawlessly with the typical 2-stroke sound. It has small traces of wear and GDR accessories – a radio, retracting belts, protective covers, headrests, a trailer hitch, wind deflectors on the door windows and a blue roof.
