Description

"This car can be viewed in person from 14th to 18th July 2020 at our the auction site, Windsorview Lakes, Datchet, SL3 9HY
An ultra-luxury saloon produced mainly for the Japanese market, the Century’s appearance is iconic in Asian countries, serving as Toyota's flagship car within Japan. The Century derived its name from the 100th birthday of Sakichi Toyoda the founder of Toyota Industries. It is often used by the Imperial House of Japan, the Prime Minister of Japan, senior Japanese government leaders and high-level executive businessmen. The Century is comparable in purpose to the Cadillac Series 70, Mercedes-Benz 600 Series, Maybach, BMW Goldfisch, Bentley, Chinese Red Flag, Rolls-Royce, and Russian ZIS/ZIL limousines. While the Century is a premium, full-size luxury saloon, it is not available at Japanese Lexus dealerships; it can only be purchased at specifically identified Toyota Store locations. The exterior styling of the Century has, with some modifications, remained unchanged since its introduction, primarily due to its perception as denoting conservative success.
We believe this is the best Toyota Century available for car collectors and the only limousine example currently on the European market. Presented in black with contrasting trim, this car has never been modified and we are informed all the features are original and working. These extremely rare cars were all hand-built to the most exacting standards for Royalty and Japanese dignitaries.
This example is a rare stretched model that has electric glass and curtain partition. We are informed by the vendor that the 4.0 L 5V-EU V8 Lexus engine starts well and pulls strong with the temperature gauge reading a little below half and the automatic transmission shifts are firm and smooth.
A full service was completed in Japan before the vehicle was shipped to the UK in 2019, the service included oil, filters, brake pads, wiper blades, four new Bridgestone tyres and all the parts were original. The fully functional digital dash reads only 55,630 km (34,500 miles) and the body is clean and straight, the chrome trim and bumpers are all intact and gleaming.
The passenger compartment is richly appointed with many luxury touches including soft and supple heated power leather seats with little wear and variable speed massage function to the rear. Further features include Mahogany wood steering wheel and cabinet, crystal glass and decanter with rear curtains all round. Mahogany wood sliding table and cup holders for passengers are coupled to front and rear air conditioning, front and rear intercom, telephone, television (working but TV to Japanese specification) a VHS player, tape deck built into the rear centre armrest, remote control for TV/video/Hi-Fi, cruise control, a mini fridge/cooler box (that also has a heating function for hot food), pull-out double footrest and even soft-closing boot where you can find the original tyre and jacking equipment present and functional.
This car arrived from Japan in June 2019 to its private London based owner and was fully registered, supplied with a V5 registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until November 2020. A stunning example of a rare car even in Japan, this is a real collector’s car that is a sign of wealth and power for the price of a new Ford Fiesta!
The health and safety of both our customers and team remains the utmost priority, we are therefore operating to Government guidelines throughout viewing and auction day."
