This unique vehicle began its life as a five-seater coupe, whose original owner, automotive engineer R.F Fuggle, Talbot’s official agent for Bushey Heath. Fuggle took the unusual step of having the car converted into a truck for use as a recovery vehicle. This conversion process was undertaken by Messers W.G du Cros of Acton, who also handled the paintwork and signwriting.
Originally driven exclusively on trade plates, the car was not registered until 1935, when it was assigned its present registration number of AUR 232. Amongst the more unusual purposes this unique vehicle has been put to was to transport a number of live pigs to Norfolk!
In 1985 the car was purchased by Mike Tasker, who then began a slow restoration process to bring the unique vehicle back to life. The Fuggle Van is now described by its current owner as being in beautifully origina
