Description

This 1967 Sunbeam Tiger Mk IA spent its early life in California and Arizona before being disassembled for restoration, when it was discovered by a noted collector after years in dry storage. Upon examination of the rust-free, straight, original body, and matching-numbers drivetrain, a purchase quickly transpired. The painstakingly detailed restoration was then entrusted to noted restorer Tom Straubinger of Hendersonville, North Carolina, while the gleaming paintwork in factory-original Embassy Black was completed by highly regarded Ferrari restorer David Carte of Edinburg, Virginia.

Having never suffered the ravages of rust or accident damage, this Tiger’s body remains intact, as evidenced by its factory spot welds throughout, including its fastidious underbody, finished in red oxide primer, as original. Following the complete rebuild of its Ford V-8, top loader four-speed gearbox, rear end, suspension, and brakes, the Tiger was reassembled, paying precise attention to correct finishes, hardware, and brightwork. Complemented by a comprehensively refurbished black interior, the result of this no-expense-spared endeavor is arguably one of the best restored Sunbeam Tigers in existence.

This extraordinary 1967 Sunbeam Tiger Mk IA projects an exceptionally handsome appearance. Offered with its optional hardtop, jack, and tool kit, the car has not been shown since completion, presenting its new owner the opportunity to debut it on the concours circuit, rallies, or tours.
