Description

"One of just 1,000 examples manufactured the STi Spec C was a homologation model for Group N rally cars and enabled Subaru to compete in the World Rally Championships. The notable difference from the rally cars to the homologation road cars were the back seats which were fitted instead of a roll cage. The STi Spec C which was solely for the Japanese market is very different to the UK spec, WRX STI, the majority of the components are uprated and designed for competition, weighing in at only 1350kg. The STi Spec C boasts a 0-60 time of just 4.2 seconds! A few motoring magazines had reviewed the STi Spec C. All the reviews claimed that, on UK roads, this was the first Impreza to eclipse the iconic P1. Not only was it as powerful as the WR1, but it also had a significant weight advantage (due to the use of lightweight glass, lightweight body panels, reduced sound deadening, and other weight-saving measures) and a vastly improved chassis. The example on offer here is very original and unmodified, it has been stored in a heated garage and only covers circa 250 miles per year. The meticulous owner acquired the car in 2009 and has maintained the Subaru where necessary and has kept it as original as possible, having only changed the tyres to a more suitable road going set, and fitted a standard size battery, rather than the original race battery which needed charging regularly. The Subaru has never competed and was imported into the UK from Japan by specialist importers, Litchfield Motors Ltd, on 23rd January 2004. It comes with a history file detailing previous maintenance work, the Japanese owner’s manual and original service booklet, the original catalogue, various sundry bills, a spare key, various old MoT test certificates and the V5C registration document. Fresh from a recent Mot and annual service, this collector quality example is in excellent condition throughout and offers a superb opportunity to acquire a very rare STi Spec C Impreza."
