The Subaru Impreza made its debut in 1992 with an eye to the world of rally racing, in which it would replace the larger and heavier Subaru Legacy.
The basic mechanics are the traditional Subaru one: boxer engine and permanent all-wheel drive, Mac Pherson front suspension and deformable wishbone rear suspension that give the Impreza a symmetrical arrangement of the mechanical parts and a very low centre of gravity, reducing roll when cornering and guaranteeing the astonishing stability
The first Impreza is marketed in three variants: 3-volume 4-door sedan, Sport Wagon and coupé, the latter never imported into Italy.
In 1998 the Impreza WWW (World Wide Winner) limited edition of only 200 numbered copies was presented.
Aesthetic peculiarities of the "WWW", in addition to the colour exclusively in blue with gold rims, are the seats in nubuck leather with the Medici's hand-stitched progressive numbering, door panels covered in nubuck, aluminium gear ring with "World Wide Winner" writing "Orciari", front bumper lip and rear wing, pink front emblem (logo reserved only for the Japanese market), interior with carbon look inserts (air vents, centre console, and odometer), gear knob, pedals and steering wheel are made by "Momo".
The power of the 2-liter boxer 16v turbo remains unchanged at 211 hp, but thanks to a series of interventions, the power output has improved considerably with an increase in torque of 2.0 Kgm at a lower number of revolutions, compared to the "normal" one.
These goodies immediately entice fans of the Japanese brand, who had to pay 66 million lire against the 56 of the "normal" one to grab one of these very rare “WWWs”.
These characteristics make the Impreza WWW an extremely rare and difficult to find object, which make it rightfully enter the ranking of the most desired Youngtimer and destined to constantly increase in interest and quotation over the years.
