When was the last time you saw a Studebaker Hawk Gran Turismo? It is a rare bird indeed, especially the version we have here. The one was a Swiss supplied car from new in 1964. That makes it only one of just 283 exported models. This is therefore a factory supplied European car.

The Studebaker’s very neat bodywork is totally original. The nice and thin panelwork has all the correct alignments. The chrome is completely original and is very presentable. The resprayed paintwork is in good shape with only minor signs of use. The wheels with their chrome hubcaps shod in correctly sized whitewall tyres are also original. Underneath the car has been correctly looked after and shows no signs of any rust formation whatsoever.

The interior is awash with lovely original green carpets and green coloured leather. One look inside will tell this car has always been treated with the upmost TLC. The original dashboard is also in fine shape. The original light green roof lining also looks the part. Thanks to excellent care the leather has remained supple and developed a pleasing patina. Another striking centre point forms the original mounted Blaupunkt radio. All instruments and controls look great and work as intended.

The Studebaker Hawk GT has a 2.8 litre straight-six powering a manual 4-speed gearbox and developing 110 Ps. The engine runs smoothly and the overall level of good handling is also due to the full hydraulic drum brake system and suspension. Mechanically the car has been very well maintained leaving us with with a very sound car in general.

The car comes with a good amount of documentation. There is a workshop manual, Swiss and Dutch owner’s manuals and a brochure featuring accessories. This very rare European supplied 1964 Studebaker Hawk Gran Turismo is in very fine fettle.
