- Véritable pilier de la production automobile américaine, la firme Studebaker reste cependant assez méconnue en Europe ; leur best-seller se prénomme « Champion » et connaitra 5 versions différentes, propulsées par un 6-cylindres en ligne puis par un V8 de 4,7 l à la fin de sa carrière
- Certains exemplaires s’illustreront en compétition comme au Tour de France Automobile 1954 avec un équipage Turc, ou plus significativement à quelques reprises à la Carrera Panamericana qu’elle remportera plus d'une fois !
- Notre exemplaire fait partie des rares unités vendues neuves en France, et fut livrée dans l’Hérault, chez un amateur qui ne s’en séparera pas avant 2013 ; son second propriétaire prend un virage bien différent puisqu’il entreprend dès son achat une restauration et préparation complète dans le but de participer au Tour Auto, qu’il fera en 2014, 2017 et 2019
- Près de 135 000 € de factures plus tard, notre auto devient une bête de course absolue muée par un V8 Chevrolet de près de 500 ch, tout en restant adaptée à la conduite sur route ouverte pour pouvoir prendre part, une fois encore, au Tour Auto

- Our example is one of the few to be sold new in France, and was delivered in the Hérault region of France to an enthusiast who didn't part with it until 2013 ; its second owner took a very different path, undertaking a complete restoration and preparation as soon as he bought it, with the aim of taking part in the Tour Auto, which he did in 2014, 2017 and 2019
- Nearly €135,000 worth of costs later, our car has become an absolute racing beast powered by a Chevrolet V8 with almost 500 bhp, while remaining suitable for open road driving so that it can once again take part in the Tour Auto
