Description
This Singer, one of only around 200 examples built, was first registered in England on the 24th of October 1933. After a number of UK owners, the little roadster was imported into Switzerland in 1990 and registered locally. At the end of 1991, the car was passed on to its second owner, who, in 1992 had around 30’000 francs invested in an overhaul of the engine, gearbox and steering. In 1993 the coachwork received a partial restoration followed by another engine and steering overhaul in 1995. In September 1996, the Singer was passed on to its so far last owner in the Bernese Mountain region. He enthusiastically used the little sportster for classic car rallies and, in 1998, had the Singer 9 specialist Ian Blackburn in England go through the car’s technical bits. After a replacement of the wiring loom in 1999, the Singer proved himself to be a very faithful companion, until in January 2019, it was finally de-registered and stored. The rare roadster is in good, drivable condition with the brakes having recently been overhauled but after the long period of inactivity, a service and an oil change is certainly recommended. The last Veteran MOT was completed in October 2016.
