Description

1964 Cobra 289 Competition Car
History: Shelby records show AC Cars billing to Shelby American on 12/18/63. Selling on 9/23/64 to first owner Daniel Rogers. The second owner was Rick Kohler of Ohio. He traded it to noted Shelby driver Tom Yeager, for Yeager’s 1965 Shelby GT350R. It is reported that Yeager prepared the car to SCCA B Production specs and raced the car at Mid-Ohio. After a series of owners, it is still being raced. Then around 2010 it is restored by Cobra expert Mike McCluskey to full competition specs. Raced numerous times at the RMMR at Laguna Seca.

Condition: Comprehensive 2010 restoration by Cobra expert Mike McCluskey to competition specs. Outstanding body and paint. Later spec Ford block on Webers top loader 4-speed transmission. Has original chassis number stampings on front hood and rear deck lid latches, and in doors. Original frame stamp and chassis tag.

Of Note: A nicely prepared Cobra 289 with competitive race results in historic racing. A documented ownership.
