Description

Chassis No. W09TD0365VPR06018

A real "W09" RUF is a rarity – bar none. While the CTR and later BTR (Gruppe B Turbo RUF) were commonplace in performance magazines, posters, and Trapper Keepers throughout the 1980s, they were rarely seen on the road, especially in the United States. Today, RUF's profile is considerably raised. The Pfaffenhausen-based company continues to produce cutting edge sports cars based on modern Porsche 911s yet, more recently, has gravitated toward producing cars with a retro appearance similar to the CTR and BTR. The CTR Anniversary, reminiscent of the legendary "Yellowbird" and the carbon SCR appear like the classic G-Model while the RCT EVO (RUF Carrera Turbo), based on a 964-generation 911, retains that famous early 1990s look. The RUF BTR Twin, carries the torch of the 993-generation, one of the most complete and refined 911s of all-time.

Forty years after the introduction of the BTR and 30 years after the BTR2 with their single turbocharged engines, the BTR Twin would make its debut with a second turbo, delivering a stunning 550 horsepower from its 3.6-liter air-cooled flat-six. While RUF's are known for their power, the famous manufacturer didn't skimp on the chassis specification. The unibody is stiffened by RUF's Integrated Roll Cage (IRC), and prodigious speed slowed by six-piston brakes at the front and four-piston at the rear. Aesthetically, the BTR is still a 993 at heart retaining the final air-cooled 911's timeless style while subtly incorporating LED lighting and, of course, a healthy dose of RUF high-speed looks. Improved aerodynamics feature across the car, with a sculpted CTR2-style front spoiler, underbody lining, special sport mirrors, and a rear spoiler with integrated air intakes along with RUF's classic five-spoke light alloy wheels. All told, RUF calls it "a pure representative of the RUF DNA, combining modern technology with a classic shape." Well said.

This RUF BTR Twin was originally one of approximately 10 993-generation BTR2 produced by RUF and it is believed to be the only BTR Twin upgraded from BTR2 specification. Completed in 2023, it exudes all of the expected RUF details laid out in its technical specification and then some. The interior features carbon fiber lollipop-spyder bucket seats with RUF headrest embossing, a three-spoke RUF steering wheel, nearly all surfaces covered in Black leather, three aluminum RUF pedals, and the epic green-lettered gauges for which RUF is so famous . Offered with less than 17,000 miles at cataloging, RUF's 40th birthday present to itself is a remarkable piece of powerful modern engineering in a classic form, exactly what one would expect from RUF, the very pioneers of the concept.
