"Royal Enfield was the brand name under which The Enfield Cycle Company Limited of Redditch, Worcestershire, sold motorcycles, bicycles, lawnmowers and stationary engines. The Enfield Cycle Company also used the brand name Enfield without Royal with the first Royal Enfield motorcycle built in 1901. They are responsible for the design and original production of the Royal Enfield Bullet, the longest living motorcycle design in history.During the period when Royal Enfield closed production in the late 1960s, so many parts had been manufactured in Redditch that they continued to build bikes for a further three of four years. Some of the parts were bought by an Indian entrepreneur who shipped them to India where a number of bikes were assembled using the parts manufactured in the UK. It is believed that this bike is derived from this time. Although maybe not assembled by Royal Enfield in the UK, the parts used to assemble the bike were indeed manufactured by Royal Enfield in the UK. This specific motorcycle was used as a catalogue or demonstrator bike, it spent many years standing in a warehouse and was hardly ever used. It was imported to the UK a few years ago by an ex-Royal Enfield engineer who then totally restored the bike to a fully working condition. Presented today in lovely polished condition, this trials variation, single seater, 350cc Royal Enfield is a very handsome machine with ample chromework to keep clean! It is supplied with a V5C registration document and as its hardly been used since its rebuild the odometer reading of 8 miles is believed to be correct (not warranted).
