Description

"Mini started the small car revolution in 1959 when the British Motor Corporation (BMC) manufactured the British icon on the 60s. Most of us have squeezed ourselves behind their wheels at one time or another. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the British market received numerous 'special editions' of the Mini which shifted the car from a mass-market vehicle into a fashion icon. In 1963, Harold Radford (Coachbuilders) Ltd introduced three luxury Mini conversions, the Grand Luxe, the Bel Air and the super-luxurious Mini de Ville. Peter Sellers famously bought a Radford Mini for his wife, Britt Ekland, having already used a similar car with 'wicker effect' painted flanks in 'A Shot in the Dark.' At the end of 1977, Radford (Coachbuilders) Ltd was dissolved but in 1989, the Harold Radford name was revived and two models were offered; the Mini de Ville and Mini de Ville S. Both models featured a variety of the kind of refinements for which the car had become famous, along with some more up-to-date options such as electric door mirrors, power steering and CD stereo systems.
This stunning left hand drive, automatic Mini de Ville by Radford was purchased by the current vendor, a classic car collector from Germany in 2014. Finished in dark blue with Connolly beige leather interior, the car comes with power windows, air conditioning, alloy wheels, a Kenwood radio/cassette and a sunroof. Supplied with the German registration documents and the German equivalent of an MOT test certificate, TüV, valid until 2020, this is a rare and unmissable opportunity to acquire a stunning Mini for a very appealing price tag.
