Description
Sometimes labelled “the poor man's Rolls-Royce” the Rover 110 was a well-equipped car with a 123 SAE hp 2.6 litre inline 6, a 4-speed gearbox with overdrive, finest Connolly leather and lavish wood veneer applications. Delivered in Switzerland, this beautiful saloon was handed over to its first owner through Titan AG on the 23rd of March 1964. Since the Rover 110, with only 1’534 examples built, is a rather rare appearance, the Swiss importer decided to register the car under the Rover 100 type certificate, eventually leading to a wrong entry in the cars registration document. How many owners the Rover has had between 1970 at 35’460 kilometres and 2008 is not known but that the car had been driven sparingly and always had received careful maintenance is obvious. The coachwork was most probably repainted several years ago but the interior still presents itself in the original condition, making the 66’513 kilometres shown to be absolutely credible. In September 2008 the 110 was taken over by the vendor and added to his collection. This stately saloon is in good to very good and very original condition and will be handed over with the last veteran MOT from October 2016.
