Very rare Rolls Royce: 568 models built from 1966 to 1971
Well maintained
The elegance of a two-door coupé by MPW

The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was introduced in 1965 after ten years of research and development. Its production is a historic revolution for the British brand.
Abandoning the separate chassis, the Silver Shadow is the first car using this technique from the brand. It is the first Rolls-Royce equipped with four independent wheels. Made up of longitudinal arms, the new rear suspension is supported by an automatic and hydraulic system, which uses the Citroën patent on its hydropneumatic suspension.
Another revolution, the Silver Shadow is designed to be driven by its owner and not by a chauffeur in general.
The transition to the body without chassis gave “the coup de grace” to coach makers Park Ward and H.J. Mulliner are then bought by Rolls-Royce, which standardizes production. Nevertheless, they will achieve in 1966 a very elegant coupe, in fact a two-door sedan with a slight recess marking the birth of the beautiful rear wings. It is not simply a Silver Shadow that they shortened, it is a all different new car with a lowered roof longer doors.

This is the car that interests us in these pages. This very elegant Silver Shadow coupe is not yet called Corniche for the 1969 model-year. This car was bought in 2009 from a French collector who himself had bought it from an English museum. It is of English origin with a right-hand drive steering wheel and meter in miles. From 1966 to 1971 only 568 copies will be made according to the Rolls Royce club data. It is therefore a pure rarity. At the time of the purchase by the current collector Mr L, restoration costs are conducted: repair of the air conditioning system, replacement of the windscreen, repair of the steering rack ... everything is looked after again to have a car as reliable as beautiful, many bills can proved that.
The interior is in very good condition, with original leathers still tight and without signs of wear. The beige painting seems to be original one.
It's a very rare opportunity today to buy a Rolls Royce coupe bodied by Mulliner-Park Ward, which is in good condition and one of the few in France today.
