1962 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II LWB (PARK WARD & CO TOURING LIMOUSINE) One of just 98 LHD division cars in this body design #858 Finished Shell Grey coachwork Delivered new to Mr. Ray Bass, Mississippi – of the Bass Pecan Company Factory air condtining & PAS On the button ready for delivery Finished in the timeless colour combination of Shell Grey metallic coachwork with Swithland Slate Grey hide, Grey Wilton carpets – Royal Blue lamb's wool over rugs and matching hand painted coachlines to body work and wheel embellishes. From the factory records we hold on the file for the car it had been tailor ordered with factory division for Mr. Ray Bass Mississippi – Bass Pecan Company. Supplied by Rolls Royce INC New York – who were the official importer of the marque. The original sale order had come from O.M.C Sports Lane Cars with the car to be ready for delivery 1st Febury 1961. Dispatched from PARK WARD & CO Wilsdone and delivered to Salford (Manchester) Shed 9, No. 8 Dock. Loaded the 4th Febury on the ‘Pacific’ Envoy’ later that same month. Benefitted with number of non-stand factory options which included air conditioning ‘refrigeration’, Dunlop White sided tyres, Picknick tables, Electric windows, Electric Delco arial, Plain Sundym glass throughout and power assisted steering for the driver's comfort Standing regally this highly important example of the marque is just 1 of 98 LHD cars built in this body deign, No 858 with factory division by PARK WARD & CO. The Burr walnut through the is mirror finish, the brightwork is flawless including the over riders which is a rarity to see on this series. Having been the beneficiary of extensive works to both body and cabin where the car has been stripped back from its original colour of RR Midnight Blue and VM3244 light Blue cabin you can only then fully understand the extensive work which has been under taken and fully appreciate the time which went into the vehicle – these are not a small car and level of expenditure to undertake these works amounts to a significant amount of money. The car is on the button road ready having benefitted with though mechanical refreshment through our work shop, the working include the follow: Brake service, with new master cylinder, wheel slave cylinders x2, front and rear wheel cylinders x2 Fuel system flushed with the fuel pump stripped removed and sonic cleaned and rebuilt Carburetors removed cleaning and rebuilt with new floats and final tune All filters changed plus new spark plugs – plus a number of other items of work.
