Description

The Rolls-Royce Phantom was the first car to be built following BMW’s takeover. Built at the BMW’s new Goodwood facility in Sussex.

The Phantom revived a great name from Rolls-Royce’s past that had always been synonymous with unrestrained luxury. In keeping with the tradition established by previous Phantom’s, the newcomer is a very large motor car, outstretching the old Silver Seraph by 18” while boasting a radiator shell 4” taller. The Phantom was designed by Ian Cameron and offered unrivalled levels of luxury and personalisation. Powered by an all new 48-Valve 6.7 litre normally aspirated engine, producing 460bhp. The abundance of power is transmitted to the rear axle via a six-speed automatic gearbox, while air-sprung suspension and automatic level control ensured that the ride quality remained uncompromised. A top speed of 149mph put the 2 ½ ton Phantom within sight of the supercar league.

The body structure represented the ultimate in automotive technology. Its accoutrements remained entirely traditional in choice of materials, consisting of the finest hide trim, genuine woollen carpets and carefully selected wood veneers. Certain dashboard features recalled those of earlier models, while there is a choice of five-seater ‘Lounge’ or four-seater ‘Theatre’ accommodation.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Wheel Base offered here at Autostorico is a 2010 “10 Plate” finished in Diamond Black Metallic with Crème light leather ‘Lounge ‘interior. Having covered a mere 26,478 miles, this stunning example boasts a full-service history, the last of which was carried out by The Chelsea Workshop a Rolls-Royce specialist in January 2019 at 22,005 miles. Specification highlights include: 21” Alloy wheels, Rolls-Royce emblem to headrest, Park distance control including camera system, Climate control, Heated seats, Cruise control, Power fold mirrors, Sat Nav, Garage door opener, Bluetooth phone system, Over rugs and Rolls-Royce umbrellas.
