The 200EX concept at the 2009 Geneva auto show had been known only as the RR4, until it was decided that their new luxury sedan would be called the Ghost. Production commenced later at the company’s Goodwood plant in the United Kingdom, and European deliveries began shortly after. Sales in the United States and Asia waited until the second quarter of 2010. Base price for the Ghost in the United States was listed as $245,000.

The final specifications for the then-new Rolls-Royce consisted of a 6.6-liter turbocharged V-12 with 563-hp mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. Zero to 60-mph is said to take 4.8 seconds, and the top speed is factory-governed at 155-mph. The 2010 Ghost slotted below the Phantom range and provided Rolls-Royce a more attainable model to compete against the Bentley Continental Flying Spur, as well as the 2010 Aston Martin Rapide.

Rolls-Royce CEO Tom Purves said the Ghost name was appropriate for the model because it evokes a sense of “adventure and technical innovation,” as well as “flair and style.” The Ghost shared the Goodwood plant’s paint, wood, and leather workshops with the Phantom where the vehicle assembly was handled by a separate production line.

Originally sold to and shipped to Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Miami on Biscayne Road in Miami Florida; this is an absolutely beautiful and little-used luxury car of the highest order. With approximately 9,000 original miles, this car came from the factory with nearly $70,000 worth of options for a final MSRP total of $314, 675 according to the window sticker that accompanies the Ghost.

Finished in elegant Tungsten with Satin Silver aluminum hood, the interior of this Ghost is the $1,800 optional Crème light and Black leather presentation. It is absolutely loaded with options that includes Drivers Assistance Package #3, rear theater configuration, comfort entry system, panorama sunroof, individual seat configuration, front and rear ventilated seats, front massage seats, adaptive headlights, picnic tables, lambswool foot mats, 20 inch factory alloy wheels, polished stainless steel tread plates, extended leather and door pocket lights, chromed visible exhausts, lane departure system, active cruise control and navigation, heads-up display, night vision and R-R is embossed to all headrests.

The conveniences are generous and the associated controls are presented in a manner expected of such a fine car. The back doors are rear hinged and capture an aura of traveling sophistication.

It is reported that this exceptional Ghost was sold and serviced locally in south Florida. It is further stated to have never experienced any damage or paintwork, has a clean Carfax and is in “new showroom condition with only 8,970 original miles.”

Every inch of Ghost delivers on the power of simplicity.

With high-waisted curves surging from the rear axle, it is dynamic and agile, even at rest. From the driver’s seat you experience a unique sense of control and potential at your fingertips. As a passenger you’re enveloped in the intimate and convivial interior.

Seductively simple, if offers the essence of Rolls-Royce in its simplest, purest form.
