Description

"The Corniche was Rolls-Royce's coupé and convertible version of the Silver Shadow produced between 1971 and 1996. The Corniche was named 'Silver Shadow Mulliner Park Ward two-door fixedhead coupé' before 1971 when the Corniche name was applied. The exterior design was by John Polwhele Blatchley.
The independent coachmaker James Young had already custom-made a two-door coupé variant of the Silver Shadow, but Young's model proved less popular and was soon discontinued. The model was assembled and finished in London at Mulliner Park Ward as a continuation of the 1965 Silver Shadow coupé and 1967 drophead. The Corniche was also sold as a Bentley, though that model became known as the Continental in 1984. The first car to wear the Corniche name was a 1939 prototype based on the Bentley Mk. V which was never produced because of the onset of World War II. The Corniche was available both as a coupé and convertible, with the former discontinued in 1982.
This wonderful looking example is presented in Seychelles Blue coachwork with a blue Everflex roof over a perfectly patinated tan hide interior. First registered on 4th October 1971 to a London based owner, this example would have been one of the earliest of just 1,108 saloon versions produced. It appears to be in very original order throughout, with its Mulliner Park Ward plaque still inset in the burr walnut facia and HJMPW (H J Mulliner Park Ward) heel mat adorning the driver’s footwell. The paintwork presents well and retains a deep shine although there are some age related blemishes visible.  The interior is in good condition and the leather upholstery looks very well indeed. The luxurious specification of this example includes a Pioneer radio/cassette player, Philips graphic equalizer and pair of Lucas auxiliary driving lamps. Offered with various sundry bills, previous MoT records and the current UK V5C registration document. This luxury Mulliner Park Ward coupé looks fantastic and is arguably in the best colour combination.
Interested parties should note that although the mileage is showing 39,719 on the odometer, this example may have been round the clock meaning a total mileage of 139,719. Historics are unsure and the buyer should satisfy themselves with the true mileage before bidding."
