Introduced in 2014, the Megane RenaultSport 275 Trophy-R was the latest in a line of remarkable special-edition performance cars from Renault including the Clio Williams, the Clio V6, Clio Trophy, Megane 230 R6 and, of course, the R26R so the quick Megane is consequently a familiar machine. Like the 265 and the 275 Trophy, the ‘R’ got the same 271bhp, 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine as the 275 Trophy. The extra power over the standard car was delivered by a revised ECU remap, again tagged to the car’s Sport and Race modes. It also shared the Trophy’s upgraded Akrapovic titanium exhaust and the ‘Cup’ chassis-pack which added stiffer springs, a larger-diameter anti-roll bar, a lower ride height and – most importantly – a GKN mechanical limited-slip differential.

Between 2014 and 2016, Renault built just 250 275 Trophy-Rs and only 30 of these were allocated to the UK. This example was purchased new by our vendor and has formed part of his private collection, seeing very little use and covering only 755 miles to date. It’s supplied
