Like all manufacturers, Renault is accustomed to presenting concept cars, which prefigure its production models. But its official partnership with Euro Disney when the park opened in 1992 incited it to look even further ahead, to the year 2328! The Reinastella, a flying saucer from 2328, took its name from an upmarket Renault model from 1929. It was designed using the latest techniques in biomechanics and covered with an innovative synthetic material, dermotylene. Powered by a bio-organic engine using 'plasmelf' fluid, the Reinastella could almost be considered a living organism. Its generator enabled it to move at 15 cm above the ground at nearly 50 kph in town. It could also cruise at an altitude of nearly 150 m and a speed of 300 kph: in this case, its architecture changed to improve its aerodynamics.
This machine, capable of transporting five passengers in complete silence, was operated using voice commands. The Reinastella represented the ultimate development of luxury passenger vehicles. This vision of the car of the future, of which two examples were built, was presented on top of a telescopic mast. At the end of the partnership, the flying saucers from Disneyland Paris entered the Renault Classic Collection, patiently waiting to go on sale ... in 305 years' time.
You will have gathered, of course, that it is an 'IFO' (an 'Identified Flying Object'). It may not fly, but it is an extremely interesting decorative object, the brainchild of Renault's design studios and a vision of what may await us in more than a century's time!

ADDENDUM :
For information, the saucer opens from the bottom via a hatch to access the passenger compartment, not from the top as the bubble is closed.
Its weight should not exceed 350 kg but Renault will try to weigh it.
Dimensions : L 600cm x W 240cm H 220 cm on the rolling base supplied.
Standard power socket to switch on the front lights.
