EXTERIOR
Presenting in a stealthy shade of Deep Black this Clio RS looks noticeably more purposeful than your standard hatchback. Equipped with the costly optional cup pack, ride height is lowered by 30mm giving the car a more aggressive stance, whilst uprated red Brembo callipers and a large rear Cup spoiler make clear the obvious performance intentions of this Renaultsport special.

Having covered just 17k miles from new condition of the car is superb, showing with just a handful of minor stone chips to note the paintwork retains a wonderful gloss throughout.

INTERIOR
Adding to the Clios impressive factory specification this example is equipped with full Renault ID leather upholstery, a £1,200 option consisting of luscious black leather with contrast grey inserts and stitching which spans the doors, steering wheel, rear seats and figure hugging Recaro bucket seats up front.

Further luxuries come in the form of cruise control, air conditioning and a CD/Radio with Bluetooth and Auxiliary inputs, making this the ideal tool to tackle a track day or hectic daily commute.

Overall condition of the interior is excellent – switch gear all functions as expected whilst the stunning leather upholstery shows free from any clear signs of creasing or wear.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Under the bonnet, the Renaultsport tuned 194bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder is well presented and once warmed is a real thrill on cam. Both hp / torque outputs peaks now sit 150rpm lower in the rev-range at 7,100 and 5,400rpm respectively, the result of a new cylinder head, revised variable valve timing and a new ECU. With that potent punch up the rev range the car comes alive and has sufficient go to upset much more expensive machinery.

Gearbox and clutch are easy to operate, with a tactile selection and engagement free of any slack or unnecessary movement.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The model specific 17″ anthracite alloys provide a subtle offset to the cars black paintwork and show free from any signs of curbing. Matching Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres adorn each corner and show with good depth all around. Red Brembo callipers show clearly thought the dark finish spokes and do a superb job of bringing the Clio to a halt.

Key to all Renaultsport Clio variants has always been the way they handle, and this model is no exception with its optional Cup Chassis set up. Consisting of a 30mm lowered ride height, firmer damper, uprated springs and stiffer roll bars the handling of the car is transformed to create a much more taut, direct drive.

HISTORY FILE
Manufactured for the UK this stunning Clio 200 RS was delivered to Freelance Motors Renault in Guernsey and first registered on 29/12/11 as one of the most highly specified examples to be delivered, benefitting from the optional Cup Chassis and Renault ID Leather interior treatment. Remaining with the first owner until 2015 the car was then imported to the UK, where it has remained ever since.
