Unveiled at the March 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the GT4 was the first Cayman model to carry a “GT” designation. Based on the Type 981 Cayman, the mid-engine GT4 borrowed its 385 hp naturally aspirated flat-six from the 991.1 Carrera S while front suspension and steering came courtesy of the GT3. A more aggressive front fascia, enlarged side-air inlets, and fixed rear wing distinguished the GT4 from lesser Caymans.

For 2016, a GT4 Clubsport was made available for ambitious amateur drivers and privateer racing teams. Purchased by customers directly from Porsche Motorsports, the track-only Clubsport was devoid of unnecessary interior comfort items, which helped keep weight down to a claimed 2,866 lbs. Other highlights included a six-speed, dual-clutch PDK transmission with locking differential, adjustable ABS brakes, GT3 Cup suspension components, FIA-specification roll cage, and a fire-suppression system. Approximately 420 examples were built by Porsche and the model was eligible for several race series around the world.

Finished in white, this 2016 GT4 Clubsport is equipped with a 70-liter (18.5 gallons) fuel tank and optioned with dual-zone climate control and an upgraded Recaro racing bucket seat with Schroth six-point harness. Supplied new in April 2016 to the consignor – a noted collector and racer – this Clubsport displayed only 53 Km when catalogued, having never been used on track.
