Under appreciated the Porsche 968 might be, but the same can’t be said for the rarest of all variants, the ClubSport. Indeed, any Porsche ClubSport model is respected and sought after, and values reflect that. Our 1993 968CS was imported from the UK by a local Porsche owner, who has several examples from the German marque, and spent some time looking for a good one. The 968CS came from England with a comprehensive main dealer and specialist service history, which has been continued here with its most recent, and fourth, cambelt and tensioner change in March 2018. Importantly our 968CS, a factory 2 seater, also recently underwent a classic car evaluation by Porsche Centre Melbourne, at which time it was fully engineered and complied to Australian Design Rules, and – being an early 968CS – obtained local club registration. Finished in Porsche’s iconic Guards Red – one of five colour choices – with the trimmed Recaro Buckets, it is presented nicely throughout. Even the black-painted factory alloys are in decent shape. Underneath this well presented 968 CS is the upgraded kw3 v3 suspension, making for a true driving experience. Though the sunroof was deleted for weight in some markets, this example has a factory sunroof, though somewhere along the way its original radio has been replaced by a later Sony stereo system. This ’93 968CS also comes with its comprehensive history, original Service book and a file of invoices dating back to the late ‘90s. This is a nice original example of a desirable, not to mention fast, modern classic.
