Unveiled at the Geneva Salon in 1977 and voted Car of the Year for 1978, the 928 was intended as an upmarket replacement for the long-running 911, but in the event Porsche's rear-engined classic would outlive its younger sibling.

Delivered new to the USA and first registered there on 13th August 1987, this Porsche 928 S4 has the automatic gearbox and is finished in the stunning colour combination of Navy Blue metallic with a contrasting beige leather interior. The factory options include (among others): locking differential (40%), sound system, and an electric sliding roof. The accompanying original service book records regular services in the USA at official Porsche dealers up to 37,842 miles in 1990.

In 1994, the car was exported to Italy and remained there until 2015 when it was purchased by a well-known German collector. The mileage total shown on the odometer is now just over 53,000, which is believed to be correct. These stunning V8-powered Porsches have long been overlooked but are now beginning to emerge from the 911's shadows, and this example is certainly worthy of close inspection. The car is offered with (cancelled) Italian registration documents and the original service book and owner's manual in their leather pouch.

Le kilométrage total au compteur est actuellement d'un peu plus de 53 000 miles, que l'on suppose être d'origine. Ces étonnantes Porsche à moteur V8 ont longtemps été déliassées mais commencent désormais à sortir de l'ombre des 911 et cet exemplaire mérite à n'en pas douter une attention particulière. La voiture est vendue avec ses papiers d'immatriculation italienne (périmée) et le carnet d'entretien original, ainsi que son manuel du propriétaire dans sa pochette en cuir.
