Description

The Porsche 928 was born in 1977 and was developed with the aim of following up the famous 911. The sports coupe was equipped with a 4.5L water-cooled V8 with 16 valves, good for 240 HP. This was positioned in the front.
To achieve an ideal weight distribution, the gearbox found its place above the rear axle, the so-called transaxle principle.
The rear axle of the 928 was a completely new development. This unique suspension with double support arms made the rear wheels steer lightly in fast turns, which contributed significantly to the active safety of the Gran Turismo.
In addition, the focus was on a lightweight construction. The doors, front screens and bonnet were made of aluminum.

Porsche advertised this car with the slogan:”from 0 to 100 km / h and back to 0 in just 10 seconds.” to indicate that both acceleration and braking power were above average.

From model year 1979, the ‘S-Variant’ came on the scene where the car – to improve aerodynamics – was equipped with a front and rear spoiler. The engine capacity would rise to 4.7L, which resulted in a capacity of up to 310 HP.

For model year 1987 a new variant was introduced, called the S4. The engine block was drilled to 5L, got a new type of pistons, cylinder heads (4 valves per cylinder), a new injection system, … so that the compression and the power increased to 320HP. In addition, the body was redesigned.
The S4 would remain in production until 1991 and be followed by the 928GTS.

The highly advanced Porsche 928 lost popularity due to the considerably higher purchase price compared to the 911. As a result, buyers continued to purchase the 911 in large numbers …

Collection by Vermant is pleased to be able to offer you this special Porsche 928 from 1987. This is a copy of the so-called S4 series, equipped with a 5.0L strong V8, good for no less than 320 HP. The car was delivered new on April 29, 1987 in Malmö, Sweden and was executed in ‘Silber-metallic’ in combination with a black leather interior. This ‘928’ was given numerous options such as seat heating left and right, limited slip differential, cruise control, factory alarm and an automatic gearbox. In its first years, the car served as a ‘demo car’ for VAG Stockholm, and from 1 March 1989 it became its first real owner. In 1992, ‘S4’ changed ownership and then from 24 June 1993 to remain in the possession of Mr. Henriksson S. He held the car until 2013. Finally, the 5th Swedish (and last owner) is discussed who cherished the car until the beginning of 2019.

Meanwhile, this beautiful classic has only 102,000 km on the clock and the car is in Belgium. This Porsche is of course provided with all original booklets, a FULL service history (booklet with 17 stamps) + all invoices and ALL test certificates since 1987! Exceptional!
All electronic / pneumatic components are in working condition.
