Description

Porsche 912 Targa softwindow

From April 1965, the Porsche 912 replaced the weaker 1.6-liter 356.
The Porsche 912 cost DM 16,250 at market launch, making it DM 5650 cheaper than the 911.
A five-speed transmission was offered at an additional cost (DM 340.00).
Until the 1967 model, the 912 had only 3 green instruments: instrument cluster, speedometer, tachometer, which were already known from the 356.
The 1967 model got five green instruments as standard, and is thus the only model year with the rare 5 green instruments. Starting with the 1968 model year, the instruments were black as on the 911.

Porsche offered the 912 for a total of four years until 1968.

See the video of this stunning authentic 912 Targa softwindow:
This 1967 Porsche 912 Targa softwindow shows up quite authentic.
It was factory-delivered with 5 gears, the rare softwindow and the, one year only, 5 green instruments and left the factory in light ivory and got repainted to brown a loooong time ago in the United States.
The Initial delivery card from the factory shows that this 912 has all matching numbers of gearbox, engine end even the original ignition lock with 3 keys are still present.
This 912 came to Berlin in 2015 and stood in a big collection.
Now it got carefully reanimated with a high sense of keeping the originality.
Everything works just fine!
The engine starts right up, runs smooth and the 5 gears do their precisely job.
The electric, even the clifford alarm and drivelock, and the brakes do well.

Watching the chassis you see spots of usage on the door edges, the hood the front, etc. and almost everywhere.
Nothing that needs to be welded and the floors still show the original factory sealing. The body is in great original, unwelded and accident-free condition. Accident-free here refers only to the deformation of the body itself, not to minor damage. The brown paint job shows the typical US-quality from years ago, but you don`t need to be ashamed of: it`s a stylish authentic beauty.

The interieur had been reupholstered looong time ago in good quality and looks well taken care of.

Driving it you feel the engine does a powerfull job and taken the softwindow down is a real air-pleasure.

The car is made ready to pass the Tüv and the “Vollabnahme” for Germany, because it now runs on it`s US-Title.

Take your chance, place your bid and end this season in a rare 912…
