Description

Dependable Quality

The 1973 Porsche 911S was the top tier of specification aside from the RS, and decidedly the cleanest before regulations changed their appearance the following year. This is an especially desirable European model, which has been faithfully restored, in its original Gemini Blue color and with only 72,000 kilometers.

This Car's Past

This European Spec 911S Targa was completed at the factory in Gemini Blue metallic over a black interior. Originally imported to Jacksonville, Florida, the first owner kept it for nearly 30 years before selling it in 2001 one to another collector local to him in Florida. The third owner purchased the car in 2007, at which time it underwent an extensive ground up restoration. It is still fitted with the original engine and transmission, with all numbers matching. This is a very well sorted and complete example of one of Porsche’s purest 911s.

Restoration or Preservation History

This 911S underwent a full ground up restoration several years ago, which included a bare-metal re-spray in the original special order Gemini Blue paint. The original engine and transmission were completely refurbished by Haus of Performance, and both are in perfect operating condition. The interior was also completely stripped and re-finished using all correct materials with the addition of period-correct sport seats. The original Fuchs wheels were also completely re-finished, and they wear new Pirelli tires that retain the correct look. Included is a large history file documenting the restoration and the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and tool kit.

Summary

1973 was the final year of the “long hood thin bumper” 911s, before regulations mandated the less visually appealing and larger bumpers. This is a great opportunity to become the custodian of one of the purest and most elegant examples of the 911 series.
