History:
The 1970 911 S 2.2 is one of the most sought-after first-generation 911s: on the long, slim body of the early 911s, it received the fuel-injected 2.2-liter flat-six, more powerful and torquier, which makes it a lively and endearing sports car. These coupes are today benchmarks for collectors.
This example is a French-origin vehicle, sold by the importer Sonauto and first registered on 23 September 1970. It has belonged to its current owner for 26 years. The car has had only 4 owners. Around 2014 it underwent a complete restoration starting from the bodyshell, documented by a photo file. Three agreed-value insurance appraisals (2014, 2018 and 2021) by a classic car expert describe a coupe in very good overall condition, with no trace of corrosion or accident.
Condition:
This Porsche 911 2.2 S is in excellent overall condition.
đ The body was completely restored, the project spanning more than a year and ending in May 2014. The car is today in a condition similar to when it came out of restoration. There are virtually no defects. The chrome and aluminum trim are in very good condition. The 15-inch Fuchs wheels are painted black with polished rims and fitted with Pirelli P6000 tires. Finally, the car is fitted with its yellow headlights.
The cabin is also in excellent condition. The black leatherette seats are in excellent condition, as are the door panels. The carpets and mats are in near-new condition, having been replaced. A period Blaupunkt radio is fitted. The onboard equipment is functional.
âïž The original engine (no. 6301633, type 911/02) was completely rebuilt in Switzerland by Pierre Ofzky Performance: new pistons, intake and exhaust valves, connecting rod bearings, timing chain, accessory belts, ignition and clutch. The original 5-speed gearbox was completely rebuilt, the braking system renewed and the running gear dismantled and restored, with Bilstein shock absorbers. The injection pump was overhauled at Bosch in Nuremberg. Finally, the clutch mechanism was replaced before 2018 and the oil cooler is new.
