Description

Launched in 1975, the Type 930 was unmistakably a member of the Porsche 911 family, but was characterized by muscular new bodywork, wide Fuchs alloy wheels, “whale tail” spoiler, and a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine. Capable of 0–60 mph in less than six seconds and a top speed of 155 mph, the 930 became the performance benchmark for other sports car manufacturers.

One of 717 US-specification examples built for 1977, this 930 Turbo was sold new through Art Bunker Porsche + Audi of Overland Park, Kansas, in August of that year. Finished in Silver Metallic over an uncommon Lobster Red leather interior, this example was additionally equipped with Recaro sport seats, electric sunroof, and a heated outside mirror. Also fitted is a rare, period Blaupunkt Bamberg radio that allowed dictation to tape using a microphone.

Illustrated by a plethora of records and receipts on file dating from delivery, this 930 Turbo has been diligently looked after throughout its life. Showing just over 50,000 miles at the time of cataloguing, this 930 Turbo presents beautifully and in largely original condition throughout with the exception of one repaint in its factory-specified hue performed in 2016. Over $70,000 in receipts (including for an engine rebuild during current ownership) accompany the car. Offered with its original books, tools, jack, spare, Bill of Sale, window sticker, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and accessories, this well-documented and still potent 930 Turbo awaits its next fortunate owner.
