Northern California car since new

Introduced for the 2006 model year, the first generation of the 997 GT3 was announced and a welcome upgrade to the outgoing 996 GT3. Bringing a host of new upgrades including a 415hp flat six engine, "zero lift" aerodynamics, and Porsche's PASM electronically adjustable suspension to name a few. Porsche then released the GT3's more track-focused sibling, the GT3 RS. Boasting a 44lb weight reduction over the regular GT3, the GT3 RS weighs in at a feather-light 3,020 pounds. With a wider track than the normal GT3, the RS's cornering capabilities were increased, and the 997 generation of GT3s are regarded as some of the best driving Porsches to date. With a total of 1,168 997.1 GT3 RSs made for the entire world, the U.S. would only see 410 total units, making this a rare car indeed.

This Porsche 911 GT3 RS began its life with first owner who custom-ordered the 911 from Sonnen Porsche of Mill Valley, CA. From the copies of the Porsche dealer reports, he was able to place the order for his Carrara White GT3 RS at the end of December in 2006. He optioned the car with the optional Carrara White paint for $4,315 and spec'd the optional Ceramic Composite Brakes to the tune of $8,840. In total, the sticker price was over $140,000. The car was assigned its build number on April 11th, 2007 and on July 19th, 2007 the 911 was completed, and arrived in America on August 1st, 2007. The car arrived to the Sonnen Porsche dealership on August 15th, 2007 and would be titled for the first time in October of 2007.

The car would then move onto its next owner in December of 2007, with the last odometer reading at 524 miles. Then, in March of 2008, a new owner took the GT3 RS with the last odometer reading at 624 miles. This owner would keep the car for the longest, keeping the car from March 2008 until at least June of 2013. In 2015, the most recent owner would take possession this 911 with only 1,737 miles on the odometer. He would drive the car sparingly, driving only in good weather and keeping the car in his garage when not in use.

Upon arriving at Canepa in December, the car was inspected from front to back. Everything about the car presents in as-new condition, no surprise given the fact that this GT3 RS has only been driven 2,348 miles since new. The car needed nothing more than a light exterior detail and a quick cleaning of the interior, with the underside being spotless and looking as-new. A time capsule of a an early 997 GT3 RS, the car is tight and all surfaces, finishes, and the fit and finish feel as though they were just completed and assembled at the Porsche factory. With 415 naturally aspirated horsepower paired to a 6-speed manual, wrapped in a chassis that is regarded by many as one of the all-time greats, this 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS is ready to rip up any backroad you can throw at it, while being civilized enough to drive home from the track and take into town.
