Description

The 1989 Speedster offered here is a spectacular example with known and limited ownership history from new. The Speedster was sold new at Sun West Inc. of St. Petersburg, Florida, through Joe Vatter, now the proprietor of nearby Porsche specialist German Tech. Vatter recently related that the Speedster’s original owner, Kent Rawson, was a local Porsche collector who almost never drove it. Later, the car was briefly acquired by a European buyer who never took delivery but sold it to James G. Hascall in 2014. The Porsche remains in stunning condition, with 390 miles indicated on the odometer at the time of cataloguing. It should be noted that the odometer was recently found to be inoperative, a common issue for G Series 911s. A service record from German Tech in 2014 shows the mileage as 379 and another from 2015 shows it as 385, which is what the odometer read when discovered to be inoperative. According to the caretaker of The James G. Hascall Collection, during the time the odometer was broken, the car was moved only a short distance, including a trip back from German Tech, where it was serviced (about three miles). The odometer has been repaired and the car’s service records are available for any interested party.

Accompanying the car are its original window sticker, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, books, tools, jack, spare, and air compressor. The 1989 Speedster is a very desirable 911 variant, and this car is an excellent opportunity to acquire a fantastic example.
