Description

The Porsche 911 Targa ‘Backdate’ offered by Autostorico is a stunning 1987 example which is finished in the iconic combination of Porsche Slate Grey metallic with Tan Italian leather interior. Purchased by its current owner a Porsche enthusiast in 2021, he immediately instructed Riviera Autobody who specialise in 911 backdating to carry out an extensive restoration and backdate.

Works commenced with the car being stripped back to bare metal and all body work issue resolved including fitting new sils, kidney bowls, and the works required to accept the older style body panels. Including new steel front panels and ST style bumper, new bonnet, and rear panel to accept the old-style rear bumper. Other bespoke exterior features include a custom-made recess for the fuel filler cap and ‘Singer-Style’ exposed billet aluminium fuel cap, a deployable 964 electric spoiler and decklid with chrome grill. Custom twin exhaust pipes designed to sit under the rear overriders like the iconic 365. Targa hoop ‘plenished’ for a brushed period finish. Original Fuchs wheels re-finished by Early-911 to RSR finish with polished outer rim. Classic brightwork added to bumper and side strips and glass trim in chrome, Porsche heritage chrome wing mirrors and LED ‘Singer-Style’ headlamps with clear glass by Flat Six Illuminations complete the exterior detail.

The interior has been fully stripped and re-trimmed including a 70s style stich pattern in Italian leather, with embossed basket weave centres and dash inserts. The original front seats are fully electric and have a heated feature. Old style blower leavers have been added along with a Momo retro steering wheel added, painted black to mimic R-style wheel. Corian gear knob and stainless-steel finished gear stick complement the Custom-made tachometer by Smiths Instruments with anodised face and raised green numbers. Finally, the new square weave oatmeal carpets with tan leather edging finish off the stunning as new interior.

Having recently undergone a service by marque specialist Hillcrest Porsche including fitting new stainless steel heat exchangers adding a Wevo ‘classic’ gear shifter, new clutch and 4x Michelin Pilot Sport tyres.

This exceptional example is supplied with the original book pack and a history file including a photographic record of the works carried, previous MOT’s, numerous invoices, and other related documents.
