Description
1986 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Sport Coupe
A really lovely 911 from the golden Eighties era, the arrival of the 3.2 Carrera model signifying Porsche’s final realisation that they couldn’t kill the 911. It was supplied when new by Charles Follett via their City of London branch to a Director of a London bank, in Thatcher’s Britain following “The Big Bang”, the 911 really was the chariot of choice!
It was ordered to a great specification which it retains to this day with paintwork in black, black interior with pinstripe inlays and options including sports seats with electric height adjustment, rear wiper, a sunroof and unusually air conditioning.
The car is in superb condition in all respects and has clearly been well looked after throughout its life as documented in detail in the very extensive history file. In 2014 a fastidious owner with deep pockets decided to make it ‘best of breed’ spending in excess of £69,000 on a refurbishment programme with respected Porsche marque specialists RPM. Work included a complete strip and repaint with a full rebuild of engine, gearbox, suspension and all componentry prior to reassembly. Invoicing and photography on file documents the work completed in detail. It has been lightly used since this work in fine weather only and has continued to be correctly maintained by marque specialists JZM and Jaz Porsche.
The car has covered 95,000 miles from new but has the appearance and driving characteristics of a low mileage example following the refurbishment completed in 2014. So, in many ways we have the best of both worlds, a fresh and taut 911 which you’re not afraid to put miles on offered at a sensible price. It comes with all keys, tools and the very detailed history including all MOT certificates and servicing invoices from new.
