Description

Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Cabriolet; body and mechanics completely restored, full restoration completed in 2020.
This Porsche boasts an amazing story: it was stolen in 2001 and abandoned in a forest in central Sardinia (as shown in some photos). It was found and recovered in 2016; the recovery operations were documented with videos and are available on request.
At the time of recovery, the body showed various external damages while the chassis, engine compartment and front bonnet were almost intact; the interior, on the other hand, was badly damaged after having been exposed to the elements for 15 years.
The Porsche was initially registered in the USA (1985) and was owned by a US Army soldier who was transferred to the NATO base in La Maddalena (Sardinia) and brought it with him to the island.
The car was later sold to a wealthy businessman in Olbia from whom it was stolen. After having had some fun, they abandoned it in a forest in Barbagia in the centre of Sardinia.
The car has therefore only had two owners apart from me, who is also the one who restored it.
Restoration work took place from 2016 until 2020: the body was completely repaired and repainted in its original colour, while the engine compartment and front bonnet still have the original paint. The interior was completely restored: seats and panels were made by an upholsterer, while carpet, buttons and various interior accessories were bought new from a qualified Porsche spare parts dealer.
Today, the car body and mechanics are in excellent condition, the gearbox works perfectly and the clutch and flywheel were replaced during the restoration.
No body, mechanical or electronic defects to report.
The last service was carried out in September 2021 and the car has only covered 200 km after that.
The car has just been examined and an ASI officer is expected to issue the certification shortly.
As the owner of an auto body shop and having performed almost all restoration work myself, I do not have any invoices for such work; however, I can show some invoices for the purchase of spare parts.
The car can be viewed and/or picked up in Orgosolo (NU) in Sardinia, by appointment with Catawiki. This Classic Car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button.
