Proton is one of the premier Porsche Motorsport supported teams in Europe. Some of the racing highlights were a three-time 24 Hours of Le Mans entrant where it finished 4th in class twice. The Sebring 12 Hour 1st in class. At the Spa WEC 2nd in class. Silverstone WEC 2nd in class. Bahrain WEC 1st in class, Interlagos WEC 1st in class and Shanghai WEC 2nd in class.

In 2013, it is the car raced by driver/actor Patrick Dempsey at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Dempsey co-drove along with Porsche Factory driver, Patrick Long and Joe Foster. After consistently running in 2nd place, the Dempsey Racing-Proton Team finished a respectable 4th in class in the GTE/AM Class. A documentary film was produced of the Dempsey Racing-Proton Team effort going to Le Mans – Racing Le Mans. A tremendous amount of PR video and memorabilia are available.

Selling in 2016 from Proton Racing into private hands in the USA. Then maintained by Chris Barber of EuroWerks, LLC.
